Welcome!
For the past 8 years, I have been working with children professionally in early childhood education centers, elementary schools, middle schools, and special education schools. This year will be my first year as a special education teacher for middle school! I'm really excited to officially start my teaching career.
In May 2010, I graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Throughout my college experiences, I have been asked to write lessons, which I have either turned in for a grade or have taught to students during my internship and student-teaching experiences. I have created this website as a way to organize and publish all of the lessons that I have written and taught in order to easily access them quickly for future teaching experiences, as well as to allow others like myself to access and use my lessons in their own teaching. Feel free to look around, take ideas, or download and modify my lessons. You will find that some of the lessons I have written are simply in-depth modifications of lessons that I found on the internet, but as you will see, I have given those websites the necessary credit. I only ask that you do the same if any ideas are taken from my website.
Also, if any lessons are used for your own teaching, please feel free to leave me a comment on my Guestbook to let me know how the lesson went, as well as any suggestions you might have to improve the lesson. Considering that I am still learning, feedback is always more than welcome!

Important information about my work:
- Most, if not all, of my lessons are aligned with the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum. Considering that my teacher training has been conducted in Maryland, it has been mandatory to base my lessons off of the standards outlined on this website.
- All of my science and math lessons have been written in a 5E lesson format: Engage, Explore, Explain, Extend, and Evaluate.
- Some of my science and math lessons involve Inquiry-Based Learning and Instruction, which is when the students acquire knowledge through the process of inquiry; the art and science of asking questions and finding the answers to those questions.
- All of my reading and writing lessons have been written in a JPTAAR lesson format: Judges Prior Learning, Plans Instruction, Teaches, Assesses, Analyzes Results, and Reflects on Changes.
