Math Vocabulary Wall
Description:
This bulletin board is a display that I created on the chalkboard to display the math vocabulary for each unit that I taught. Each day I added vocabulary to the wall that related to the day's lesson. Students referred to this throughout the lessons. We also used it for new lessons by referring back to and reviewing previously learned vocabulary in order to better understand new material. Students were allowed to refer to this vocabulary wall during unit tests. We also used it during reviews before tests. Lastly, I used it as a way to review during transitions by lining students up using questions that relate to the vocabulary terms on the wall. I also used it during the end of the day dismissal when students were waiting to be dismissed to other rooms. I would use the vocabulary to ask the students questions and they would earn tickets for correct answers. I would challenge them by not just asking them what words meant, but using those works to ask problem solving questions.
